Iron & Pine – Proudly supporting Wigtown Book Festival

Proud Venue Sponsors

Iron & Pine are proud to be sponsoring a specially created unit for the Wigtown Book Festival which will showcase the festival’s special 25th Anniversary.  The Iron & Pine Studio will have centre stage in the heart of Wigtown and will be show a special video that encapsulates not just the evolution of the festival over the last 25 years but as importantly, the evolution of Wigtown over this period. In 1999 the struggling town’s community spirit pulled together to win the prestigious title of “Scotland’s National Book Town” going on to create 57 full time jobs and attracting over 303,000 visitors to a now vibrant village.

Luke Mazs, Co-founder at Iron & Pine commented “We see this as a fantastic opportunity to work with a team equally proud of their Dumfries and Galloway heritage. With the shared ambition of developing the rural economy in the south of Scotland, Iron & Pine are honoured and excited to be working with The Wigtown Book Festival Committee to make this year’s event a resounding success. The Iron & Pine Studio will be presenting a film that highlights the 25-year success of the festival and the collective voice of the community.  We are so proud to be involved”.

Created 5 years ago with a view to developing a sustainable business in the region and providing employment for the local community, Iron & Pine has seen their business continue to grow. From the development of their first modular office in a friend’s barn in 2018 the company now produces a variety of holiday and residential accommodation, offices and commercial premises from their large workshop in Dalbeattie. The company now employs 12 people and delivers modular buildings to a variety of clients throughout the UK and has plans to expand the business further in the coming months.
