Our Team

Alistair Fell

Co-Founder

Alistair founded Iron & Pine with school friend Luke. After a career in renewables he was looking for a new challenge which would allow him to return home to Galloway. Alistair is driven by the desire for Iron & Pine to be at the forefront of modular construction seeing the opportunities in sustainability and efficiency that come with that. Alistair is always full of ideas and inspires a growth mindset in everyone at Iron & Pine.

Alistair's dog Winston can often be found keeping him company at work.

Luke Mazs

Co Founder

Luke is a co-founder of Iron & Pine alongside school friend Alistair. After time in the army then working as a linesman a serious motorcycle accident led to a career rethink and Iron & Pine was born. Luke is passionate about creating a great place to work in Dumfries & Galloway whilst offering high quality products to our customers. First thing in the morning you’ll find him with coffee in hand catching up with each of the team and the project's progress.

Luke claims to cook the best steak this side of Texas….

Richard Nash

Non-Executive Director

Richard joined the board in 2024 as a non-executive director. With over 25 years of FCCA financial knowledge in a wide range of industries he brings a strategic insight to the leadership team.

Richard was inspired to get involved after meeting Luke and Alistair and seeing their passion for the business and desire to build a strong and robust company. Living locally means Richard is able to visit regularly and be hands on with planning and strategy.

Laura Mazs

Business Development Manager

Laura has been involved with Iron & Pine since 2018 initially helping the business get set up on a part time basis to working through project management and sales positions before taking on the role of business development manager. With a background in HR and project management for a global shipping company Laura loves being people focussed.

Laura’s favourite part of the job is seeing happy customers being delighted with their unit and the overall Iron & Pine experience.

Outside of work you’ll find her exploring woods or at the beach with her family and enjoying Luke’s famous steaks!

Colin Shaw

National Sales Manager

Colin joined the team in 2025 to help with growth and development of the customer experience. A Dumfries native he has over 25 years experience in sales and service, always with a customer-first mindset. Outside of work you'll usually find Colin involved in something football related.

Laura Wilson

Laura volunteers with the RNLI as lifeboat crew so a regular day at the office always has the chance of being interrupted by the sound of the pager!

Holly Thomson

Asia Sahota

Creative Lead

Bringing her creative flair to the marketing team in 2025, Asia has been developing the quality of Iron & Pine's content across all platforms. Asia keeps the creative juices flowing outside of work too with art projects and home improvements always on the go.

Kelsey McCulloch

Office Administrator

Kelsey joined the team in early 2025 in the role of office administrator. Since starting she has been involved in a wide range of activities and projects, bringing attention to detail and a positive attitude to everything she undertakes. Kelsey works closely between the workshop and office teams and is a real early bird, often the first to arrive.

Her favourite part of the build process is seeing containers loaded up ready to go to their new locations.

Sue Taylor

Finance Officer

Davy Allison

Welder & Fabricator

Davy has been the lead welder and fabricator at Iron & Pine since 2023 following a career in site management and steel fabrication. Learning how to create products from shipping containers was a new skill gained in our workshop and Davy loves the feeling when a finished product comes to life.

Davy’s highlight of the week is always his Friday bacon and egg roll.

Carter Neil

Welder & Fabricator

Carter joined Iron & Pine in 2023 and is part of the welding team who help shape containers into the finished layout. Carter takes great pride in the quality of the work his team provide and particularly enjoys making the frames for our units.

Jonny Lyons

Welder & Fabricator

Dale Milligan

Electrician

Electrician Dale has been part of the Iron & Pine team since 2023 and looks after all aspects of electrical work in our container builds from lighting to sockets to air conditioning. His favourite part of the job is when the units are tested and ready for a temporary power supply to turn on the lights, he’s not such a fan if all the lights don’t work!

Dale’s project highlight was the seven container house we built on the Isle of Coll - it was rewarding to see the end result after the time and effort by the team.

Aiden Rennie

Plumber

Keen runner Aiden is the plumber at Iron & Pine, arriving to the team in 2025. After completing his apprenticeship he is now enjoying the opportunity to work on Iron & Pine projects as part of a team of tradespeople. His favourite part of the build process is when the first fix is complete and the units are really starting to take shape.

If Aiden is in charge of the tunes then you’ll probably hear a bit of AC/DC blasting from the speakers.
