Nissen Christmas Trees

Client:Nissen Christmas Trees

purpose: farm staff accommodation

location:dundee

Nissen Christmas Trees, a Christmas tree farm in the north of Scotland, wanted to upgrade their staff accommodation. Their priorities were affordability, eco-friendliness, and the ability to transform the units for future uses. They also desired a move away from the typical caravan aesthetic.

We delivered a solution with purpose-built units that were economical for the farm and provided a comfortable living environment for staff. Amanda, the owner, specifically requested a shift from traditional caravans, seeking a more eco-friendly and aesthetically pleasing option. We designed two bespoke units: a Grande and a Classic. Both prioritise staff comfort with features like a breakfast bar, a spacious open-plan living area and incorporate sustainable features like air source heat pumps. Both units rely entirely on solar panels to power the units.

“We worked closely with Iron & Pine to get the flow right of the units and I very happy with the end result. It’s much better than what I expected and are perfect for the workers. We’re really happy we went down this route vs the caravan route as it has created a product that we think its worth the value of its cost, its aesthetically appealing, they are cost effective in terms of how they run and we can repurpose them if needed”
